Day Trip to Socorro – State of São Paulo

I recently took a day trip to Socorro with my whole family. We decided that we would go to Gruta do Anjo – Angel’s Grotto – to celebrate my sister’s birthday.

We went in 2 cars, because my whole family wanted to go, even my brother-in-law went this time.

The trip to the city of Socorro usually takes about 2 hours by car from the city of São Paulo.

Who am I?

Before continuing, let me introduce myself.

I’m Rodrigo Schmiegelow, an advertiser specializing in Digital Marketing, today I live as a Digital Nomad (what is it). In other words, I have geographic freedom and can work from anywhere in the world.

That’s why I can have amazing experiences like this.

I started a trip around the world to get to know places, cultures and regional cuisines. I will bring great surprises from these experiences.

I’m on the Farofa expedition, getting to know regional cuisines from all over Brazil.

Arrival in Socorro

We didn’t see much tour option to do in Socorro.

Because Gruta do Anjo -Angel’s Grotto – was crowded, we decided to go to Cascavel peak – Pico da Cascavel – first.

To get there, I needed to go through a steep dirt road, and my mother’s car did not have the strength to finish this path.

I got to the top, in my point of view, it isn’t that special, however the landscape is beautiful.

Angel’s Grotto – A Day Trip to Socorro

We managed to get there around 1 pm, I don’t remember the price of each ticket.

This place is also beautiful, there are pedal boats available, so you can take a fun ride in the small lake inside the cave, but I didn’t think it was worth it either.

There’s not much to do inside, only the pedal boat.

The end of the Day Trip to Socorro

Finally, we finished our tour visiting a nearby waterfall. We didn’t get to enter the water because the day wasn’t very warm.

On the way back home, we decided to stop by Bragança and eat at Famosa Linguiça Restaurant.

The food was delicious, the waiter was very kind, they had different options and types of peppers and sauces, such as jabuticaba with hot pepper jelly.

My favorite sandwich unfortunately had run out, however the other sandwiches were very tasty.
