We do not know for sure the origin of its emergence, however, it appeared in the beginning of the 20th century.
Brownie’s Most Famous Legend
Its most famous story is that it occurred due to a mistake, just like the Petit Gateau, but in this case, the legend tells that a housewife was preparing a chocolate cake recipe and forgot to add yeast. the cake didn’t rise.
Some places say the brownie was purposely created by a chef at the Hilton Palmer House hotel.
First records – How did Brownie come about
The book “Larousse Gastronomique” says that the first time the brownie appeared in the region of “New England”, in the Northeastern United States, in 1896.
However, many culinary historians claim that it appeared between 1906 and 1909.
Its origin is not known for sure, we only know that it is a delicious dessert and very popular in many parts of the world.
