We live in an immense land

When we talk about Brazil, we refer to a gigantic territory of 8,516,000 km². Due to the extension, we see regions with very different climates from others.

Paying attention to this, you will notice that, on the same day, one state is rainy and cold and, in the other, dry and hot.

And that’s why there are places to escape the cold in Brazil! While in the South region we experience lower temperatures, in the Northeast, for example, the sun and heat are always there.

Finally, there is one more incredible advantage to share with you: it is much cheaper to travel to warm places during the winter. Tourists are looking for 0 degrees, so it’s a great time to chase the heat and save some money.

Want to know the 5 places to escape the cold in Brazil? So get the notepad ready!

1. Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul

One of the places worth visiting at this time of year is Bonito, in Mato Grosso do Sul. There you won’t find a cold winter.

In other words: during the day, temperatures are more pleasant and it may be cold at night.

You need to take a warm coat with your suitcase, but you will be able to enjoy the destination a lot, exploring nature, the beautiful waterfalls and caves and adventure tours.

And If you’re used to temperatures lower than 10 degrees, the “cold” of the night won’t even bother you.

2. Porto Seguro, Bahia

In this list of places to escape the cold in Brazil, I could not fail to mention Porto Seguro.

For example: on the coldest days, you will find temperatures in the range of 21ºC to 25ºC. However, in July it usually rains a lot, so it is worth keeping an eye on the weather forecasts.

And there is no shortage of things to do in Porto Seguro. You can enjoy the beach, explore the historic sites or simply relax.

I strongly recommend this destination for your next itinerary.

Still talking about our amazing state of Bahia, Trancoso is another destination that is worth including in the list of places to escape the cold in Brazil.

During the day, the  temperatures reach up to 30ºC and, at night, you can feel a little cold.

In other words, what matters is that you can enjoy warmer days and take off those heavy winter clothes a little.

4. Jericoacoara, Ceará

Fourth on our list, I’m going to talk about Jericoacoara. From July to December, it practically doesn’t rain there, and you can enjoy your trip a lot.

The tour along the coast and the beautiful lagoons is a must visit, and it’s a great place to be a digital nomad.

Finally, a golden tip: don’t miss the sunset at Barrinha!

5. Chapada das Mesas, Maranhão

Finally, I will bring to our list of places to get away from Brazil the beautiful Chapada das Mesas.

In July, the rainy season begins, and you can enjoy the place a lot. Poço Azul is the main tourist attraction of the destination, but there you can enjoy the waterfalls and adventure tours.

For those who still don’t know this Brazilian richness, it is worth visiting the city of Maranhão.
