When I was in Arraial d’Ajuda, we decided to get to know the region better, to discover other beaches and cities.

We woke up very early, aiming to visit Caraíva, approximately 3 hours by car.

Who is my brother?

He’s Rodrigo Schmiegelow, an advertiser specializing in Digital Marketing, today he lives as a Digital Nomad (what is it). In other words, he has geographic freedom and can work from anywhere in the world.

That’s why he can have amazing experiences like this.

He started a trip around the world to get to know places, cultures and regional cuisines. He will bring great surprises from these experiences.Follow the O Mundo em Lanches Project  (The world in sandwiches) blog on Instagram.

Attempt to arrive in Caraíva

We left our room and soon embarked on this trip, however, it had rained a lot in the previous days, and, as some stretches were connected by dirty roads, everything was muddy. Due to the motorcycle, it was not possible to continue.

Even so, despite some people warning us, we tried to make this short trip work. However, the road was slippery and my brother and I almost fell off the motorcycle.

Change of Plans – one day in Trancoso

As Trancoso was a nearby town that had paved roads, we decided to visit it.

We got there and went straight to the Rio Verde Beach, but it was still raining and we couldn’t enjoy it.

The beach was very beautiful, with yellow sand and the sea was very rough. The atmosphere was nice, but everything was really expensive.

We went to a kiosk where we had to spend 100 reais ($20 dollars) in food to be able to use the tables and beach chairs. Then we took the opportunity to eat a vinaigrette with octopus that was very tasty.

The rain lasted for about an hour and after that we decided to visit Trancoso Viewpoint and the square, the center of the city.

The square – one day in Trancoso

The viewpoint was close to the beach where we were, so we got there pretty quickly. There, the city church is in the center surrounded by colorful houses, forming a square.

The place had a very beautiful view of the sea, you could see it from end to end, really very impressive, but there was nothing else to do there.

After that, we decided to go back to Arraial d’Ajuda because it was already late.

On the way back

Some people riding horses appeared on the road. I didn’t quite understand what was happening, but traffic was bad.

In the end, they hit our motorcycle, thankfully, as we were stuck in traffic, nothing worse happened.

I enjoyed getting to know Trancoso, the beach was beautiful, but very empty. I hope to go back to Porto Seguro and get to know Caraíva and Mirrror Beach.
